Let Them Know!

Monday, February 16th, 2009

Start Early.  A number of 2010 prospects have already begun submitting their film to colleges online and for good reason.  The recruiting process starts earlier and earlier every year and the sooner you can get your film and information in front of the coaches at the colleges you are interested in, the better.  Illinois, East Carolina, Princeton, Buffalo, McNeese State, Syracuse, Bucknell, Cornell, Dartmouth, Columbia, Harvard and Davidson are just some of the schools that have recently told us they are going to exclusively mention submitting game film online using Go Big to their 2010 prospects via their mass mailings.  The word is spreading fast!

  • Let Us Know.  If you have signed with a school or decided which college you will be attending, please let us know.  We will soon be adding a feature on the site that details all of our success stories.  Just this week we have already heard from Bryan Amidon (San Diego), Rodney Hill (Howard), Pat Haggerty (Villanova), Kevin Gallagher (Holy Cross), and Chris Allen (Abilene Christian).  Congratulations to all and please keep them coming!

New Info From a I-AA Coach

·        It’s Not Over.  Even though signing day has passed for 2009 there are a lot of colleges still looking to fill out their recruiting classes.  Coaches at the Division II, III, NAIA and Junior College level are still actively recruiting seniors.  Even some Division I FCS ( formerly I-AA) schools still have spots open.  We recently spoke with one Division I-AA recruiting coordinator that told us he had 17 commitments but still had 8 or 9 spots to fill.  That being the case, make sure if you are senior and still undecided that you submit your game film to any school you are interested in at any level.

Recruiting not over for Class of 2009

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

Even though signing day is only two days away, the recruiting process is still in full force across the country.

Division I and IAA are still waiting on decisions from some prospects while continuing to talk with others in case the prospects whom they have already offered choose to go elsewhere.

They are also continually talking with invited walk-on candidates and hoping to find some diamonds in the rough in the form of players who are not offered full-scholarships but still find a way onto the field and make a valuable contribution.

Division II and III as well as all NAIA schools will continue to recruit prospects long after signing day has come and gone.  Stay tuned for more info about what their process is going forward.
