Go Big is Blowing Up!

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Go Big is breaking records on a weekly basis in terms of the amount of student-athletes, high school coaches, and college coaches signing up, signing in, and making orders.

As of 11:20 AM EST today, already well over hundred college coaches have logged into their account to check out the recruits that have specifically sent their film to them using Go Big as well as sift through our searchable database in the hopes of requesting film from prospects via the “Interested in You!” emails.

Schools already logging in today include coaches from Florida and Georgia Tech all the way to Harvard and Wesleyan and everywhere in between.

MAY VISITS

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

College coaches are able to go on the road to high schools for 30 days during a six week window from the middle of April until the end of May.  This is when they really dive into the next class, in this case the class of 2010, in earnest.

It is very important that you get your game film and profile in the hands of every school that you are interested in as soon as possible in order to spark the interest of the coaches so that they will stop by your high school to check you out during the spring recruiting period.

If they have not received your film and don’t know who you are, they may not stop by your high school.

Yale Now Mentioning Go Big to Prospects!

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Yale, one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the United States, is the latest school to specifically mention Go Big Recruiting as an option for submitting game film to all of their football recruits.  They recently let all of their prospects know about the new way to submit game film via an email to the prospect’s whose email addresses they already have on file.

The word is spreading quickly and seemingly every day a new school is specifically mentioning Go Big as the online alternative to sending hard copies through the mail.  Think about how much a school has to believe in the Go Big process in order to place the Go Big name in their mailings and emails.  That should tell you how far we have come in such a short time.

When will every school look at my profile and film?

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Once you place an order and submit your information to the colleges of your choice, the personally certified Go Big contact(s) at each school will receive an email letting them know that a new prospect has specifically selected their school.  The college coaches can then log into their account and review all of the profiles and game film.

Some coaches/schools review the game film almost immediately or at the very least the same day in which they receive it.  Others wait until they have gotten several new prospects and then log in and view all of them at the same time.  Still other coaches, especially during spring practice, will wait several weeks or longer before they get around to the task of reviewing recruiting film sent via Go Big or the old way of receiving DVDs through the mail.

Placing an order at Go Big is not like purchasing flowers or books online in that you necessarily get immediate gratification and no when your shipment will be recieved. It can sometimes take time for every school to view your information due to the very nature of the process of personally evaluating profiles and game film.

The bottom line is that it is still much better than sending a DVD through the mail and hoping and praying that it has been received and reviewed without any confirmation or feedback whatsoever.

“XYZ University is Interested in You!” Emails

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

College coaches are constantly checking the Go Big Recruiting database looking for prospects that they might be interested in.  They are able to look at the basic information of each prospect who has signed up at Go Big (name/school/state/height/weight/40/bench/GPA/SAT’s) and identify which prospects could possibly be a good fit.  That is just one reason that it is critical that you fill out your profile completely so that they have all of that information and more.

Once the coaches see a prospect they are interested in, they are able to send an email invite through the Go Big site that indicates they are interested in reviewing your complete profile and game film.  At that point, you must log in to your account and add them to the list of schools to whom you have sent your game film and information.  Remember, Go Big is THE online post office for you to submit your game film.  Nothing more.  Nothing less.

That being said, you don’t have to wait until a school indicates interest for you to submit your game film to them.  Go Big allows you to submit your game film to EVERY school that YOU are interested in, not just the ones that have indicated an interest in you first.

Zero Percent

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

That is the chance that you have of getting seriously recruited by a school that has never received your game film or information.  Think about that for a second.  If they have never heard of you or gotten a look at your film or information, there is absolutely no chance that they will offer you a scholarship or a spot on their team.

That does not mean you should send your game film and information to every school in the country.  It does mean that if there is even a tiny chance you might eventually be interested in a school, you need to submit your game film and profile information to them as soon as possible.  Whether you use Go Big or go the old-fashioned route with DVDs and letters through the mail, the time is now.  What do you have to lose?

More importantly, how do you know if you never try?

The Personal Touch

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Go Big Recruiting has personally signed up well over 1,000 registered college football coaches.  That means that Go Big now has a personal contact at close to 95% of the colleges in the United States that play football.  And if you submit your game film online to a school where we do not have a personal contact, we will establish one immediately.  It also means that after an order is placed and the college coach receives the notification that his school has a new prospect, the college coach is already aware of Go Big and what we stand for.

Unlike other websites that claim to have connections with college coaches, Go Big never signs up a college coach or sends a blanket email to someone without speaking to them first and letting them know what it is that we do.  Only after they acknowledge that they want to be a part of Go Big’s platform do they sign up.  They sign up because they know that the guys at Go Big are former football players that want to make the process easier for everyone involved.  Go Big Recruiting is simply the online post office where high school athletes can submit their game film to colleges.
