Nutrition and Core

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

If I could go back to my high school days and change anything it would be my failure to properly strengthen my core muscles and eating habits.  I didn’t realize until I got in the NFL how important your diet is and how critical it is that you are strong throughout your mid-section and low back.

You are what you eat which is why lean meats with high protein and a lot of fruits and vegetables are the way to go.  I spent way too much time eating fast food and I think I could have been even better if I had realized earlier how important that facet of my training was.

I rarely did abs or sit-ups in high school because I mistakenly thought those muscles were mainly for aesthetic purposes and didn’t realize the amount of strength, power, and balance, that is garnered when having a solid core.  As a result, I had some back issues that started in high school and effectively ended my NFL career after seven years after I needed back surgery to repair herniated discs at multiple levels.

Make sure all summer you take care of your nutrition and core and don’t let either one of those two things stop you from your goals

Kansas is the latest …

College football program to exclusively mention Go Big Recruiting.com as the online way to submit highlight and/or game film to their university.  The Jayhawks just yesterday sent a “Spring Reminder” letter to all of the prospects on their mailing list letting them know that Go Big Recruiting is their “online partner” when it comes to video submission.

There is a reason why so many schools continue to mention Go Big Recruiting to their prospects.  The reason is Go Big is the best at what they do and have simplified the process enough that the college coaches are willing to use it.

If you haven’t told your friends, teammates, or coaches about Go Big yet, what are you waiting for?

Backed by College Coaches

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

No other website or so-called recruiting service that is out there has college coaches consistently using and mentioning them as much as we do here at Go Big Recruiting.com.  It is doubtful that you will hear from college coaches about any online services other than Go Big because we were the first and we are the best.

The reasons for this are very simple: 1)We are football guys and this is what we do and 2) We keep a very narrow focus with what we do and who we are.  We are the online post office through which you submit your highlight and/or game videos to schools instead of shipping them a package through the mail.  That’s it.  No social networking.  No advertising. No ranking.  Our pricing structure is the exact same as it would be to send out DVDs through the mail except we save our customers some money, a ton of time, and offer the feedback of knowing when it has been reviewed.

Highlight Films Important

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

The most important thing a recruit can do is make sure that they are putting their best foot forward with their personal highlight film.  College coaches typically don’t want to watch a game film of a prospect until their interest has been sparked by what they have seen in a 3-7 minute highlight film.

It is vitally important that your best plays are at the very beginning of the video so that the coach is excited about what you can do and will watch the remainder of the film.  If the first couple of plays are less than your best he might lose interest and move on to the next prospesct’s film.  That is why you need to make sure to only include your personal best on the film and make sure the very best is at the very beginning.
