Now it’s Northwestern!

Friday, August 28th, 2009

Two days ago a coach from Duke University in the ACC was checking out the Go Big database of players and requesting videos from players via the “Duke is interested in you!” email feature.  Yesterday it was Northwestern University from the Big 10 trying to identify players that could potentially fit their program and requesting to see their highlight and/or game films along with their complete profiles.

Make sure your profile is completely filled out with all of your latest information, including your current GPA and test scores.  Schools like Northwestern and Duke are not only looking for BCS-quality football players, they also are looking for outstanding students.

The Duke Blue Devils are searching …

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

One of the coaches from the Duke University football team is the latest college football staff member to scour the Go Big Recruiting database for prospects that potentially have what it takes to be a future Blue Devil.

If you received an email telling you that “Duke is interested”, remember that that was sent out specifically to you by a member of the Duke coaching staff that is interested in reviewing your complete profile and video based upon your basic information that he can review when performing a search.  At that point, it is up to you to click on the SCHOOLS tab and submit your film and profile specifically to Duke so that coach or others on the staff can review it.

New Recruiting Cycle is Here!

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

August 15th will mark the date of the new recruiting cycle for the 2009 season for Go Big Recruiting.

What is a “cycle”?

The cycle is the way in which Go Big Recruiting differentiates between different seasons for recruiting film per the request of a number of college coaches.  It allows them to identify and separate the previous season’s footage from the current season.

How does it work?

Go Big’s entire process is modeled off of the sending of DVDs through the mail, only our process is done entirely online.  So just like you would have to burn off DVDs from the 2008 season and send them out to colleges and then eventually do the same thing again for the upcoming 2009 season, Go Big works the same way.

How does it work?

The cycle really only comes into play for prospects that want to send their 2009 video to some of the same schools to which they already sent their 2008 video.  Just like sending out the new season’s DVD to their respective football offices through the mail, prospects must attach the new video to their profile and place an order to those same schools for the new season.

This will ensure that the college coaches get an email notifying them that they have received new film from the 2009 season.  Your name will then appear at the top of their inbox in bold, indicating new film has arrived, and when they click on your name to check out your profile and review your 2009 video, you will once again get the email letting you know that your film and profile have been reviewed.

All of the college coaches that you sent your 2008 film and profile to will still have access to your previous video and information but they will NOT be able to view your 2009 footage unless you order them again.  This does not apply to any new schools that you have never previously ordered obviously.

 Questions?

This process was created based upon the information that we received from the college coaches that we speak with on a daily basis.  If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at contact@gobigrecruiting.com.  We are here to serve you and improve the process of highlight/game film submission for everyone involved!

It’s Here

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

The college football season is officially upon us as many Division I teams started practice this week in anticipation of the 2009 season.  That also means that college coaches will be very busy, especially the first two weeks while they put their charges through dreaded two-a-day practices.

The good news is that they are never too busy to recruit.  Some big schools that have entire staffs devoted to recruiting will stay up to date by continuing to evaluate incoming game and highlight films via Go Big Recruiting.  Other staffs at the Division I-AA or Division II level may refrain from watching film during those hectic two weeks before starting up again once school is in session for their players.
